The team behind the system aimed to deliver clean, clear water with minimal effort on the part of the hot tub owner. How does True Water work?
The secret behind this innovative system lies in oxygen nanobubbles. These nanobubbles are 2,500 times smaller than a grain of salt and work differently than traditional microbubbles. While microbubbles burst at the surface, nanobubbles remain suspended in the water, working to scrub surfaces and keep the water fresh for months. This means less chlorine is needed, reducing chemical use to levels even lower than what’s found in drinking water.
According to Erica Moir, senior vice president of design, engineering, and product marketing at Jacuzzi, the inspiration for True Water came from outside the hot tub industry. The team looked at wastewater treatment and agriculture, where nanobubbles are already used, to bring this cutting-edge technology into the home spa world.
